In Person Programs
Does a student need musical experience?
Not at all! Our workshops are designed for complete beginners. Anyone can learn the basics of beatboxing, regardless of musical background or ability.
What ages do you work with?
We offer programs for Pre-K through college, as well as adult learners. Every workshop is customized to be age-appropriate and engaging for the audience.
What types of programs do you offer?
- School assemblies
- Classroom workshops
- Multi-day residencies
- After-school programs
- Professional development for educators
- Speech and language support workshops
- Corporate team-building experiences
- Community and library programs
- Festival and conference performances
How long are your workshops?
Programs can range from 30-minute assemblies to full-day residencies or multi-week programs. We will recommend the best format based on your goals.
Can you work with large groups?
Yes! We have taught everything from small classrooms to assemblies with hundreds of students. We tailor activities to fit your audience size.
Do you offer virtual workshops?
Yes. We offer engaging virtual programs that include live instruction, interactive activities, and opportunities for every participant to create music from anywhere.
Do you work with students receiving speech or language services?
Yes. Our team has collaborated with speech-language professionals and researchers to explore how beatboxing can support articulation, breath control, vocal awareness, and communication. While our programs are educational rather than clinical therapy, they can be a valuable complement to speech and language learning.
Can you customize workshops to fit our school?
Absolutely. We regularly tailor programs around themes such as leadership, kindness, anti-bullying, growth mindset, teamwork, literacy, creativity, STEM, SEL, and school culture initiatives.
What do you need from the venue?
For most programs, we simply need an indoor space, access to electricity, and enough room for participants to engage comfortably. We will provide a detailed technical checklist before your event if additional equipment is needed.
Where do you travel?
The Academy of Noise performs and teaches throughout New York City, Long Island, New Jersey, Connecticut, Massachusetts, and across the United States. We also travel internationally for workshops, conferences, and educational programs.
How do we book a program?
Simply fill out our contact form or email us with your organization, preferred dates, audience size, and goals. We will recommend the best program and provide a customized quote.
How far in advance should we book?
We recommend booking at least 4-8 weeks in advance, especially during the school year. However, if your event is coming up sooner, reach out and we will always do our best to accommodate your schedule.
Do you offer grants or help schools find funding?
Yes! We regularly work with schools, PTAs, libraries, and community organizations that use grants or outside funding to bring our programs to their students. If you are applying for a grant, we are happy to provide program descriptions, learning objectives, pricing, and any supporting materials needed for your application. If you are not sure where to start, reach out and we are happy to help explore funding opportunities with you.
Are you an NYC vendor?
Yes! The Academy of Noise is an approved NYC Public Schools vendor and can work directly with schools through the appropriate purchasing process.
Do you offer bilingual programs or instructors who speak other languages?
Yes! We have team members who are fluent in both English and Spanish. If your school or community would benefit from instruction in another language, let us know. We have a network of professional beatbox artists and teaching artists, and we will do our best to match your community with an instructor who best fits your students needs.
